Job Description

Firesprite is a visionary game development studio based in the heart of Liverpool, and an integral part of the PlayStation Studios family. We create showcase games that deliver thrilling journeys, featuring memorable characters and captivating narratives. We are looking for a Cinematic Designer to join our Cinematics team, focusing on a dark, story-driven ‘Narrative Adventure’. The role involves creating blockout and first-pass cinematics, ensuring consistency throughout the project, and acting as a connection point among various teams.

Requirements for the Role

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Animation, Art, and Design to build exciting cinematics.
• Build high-quality blockout cinematics in Unreal Engine.
• Process and integrate character animations, visual effects, and camera work.
• Maintain and manage cinematics in a highly iterative environment.
• Troubleshoot problems collaboratively and communicatively.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of cinematic tools and workflows.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of game engines (preferably Unreal Engine).
• Experience in cinematic creation using animations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with others and embrace diverse approaches to problem-solving.
• Proactive in anticipating team needs and producing solutions.
• Strong desire to work on cinematics for narrative games.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of composition and cinematography principles.
• Experience with multitrack video/audio editing.
• Knowledge of 3D Modelling.
• Any experience with Visual Scripting or curiosity about it.
• Links to portfolio work in games/animation are highly encouraged.
