Job Description
As a Junior Designer at DEPT, you will be responsible for creating engaging designs that facilitate conversations between people and brands. You will collaborate with a team of creatives and copywriters to deliver impactful designs that fulfill client briefs and uphold the DEPT standard of Design. This role is temporary and is part of our Personalized Creative team, which specializes in hyper-personalized, digital communications aimed at changing perceptions and shifting market share for clients like eBay, Ancestry, and Walmart.
Requirements
Skills and Previous Experience:
- Genuine love for digital marketing and design.
- Degree in Design or related field.
- Strong visual design eye with understanding of layout, typographic elements, and fonts.
- Experience with design software, specifically Figma and the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
- Familiarity with design techniques (e.g., prototyping).
- Ability to design for small web placements.
- Basic understanding of UX principles is a bonus.
- Good typesetting and retouching skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-driven with an inquisitive nature.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project requirements and work on briefs from start to finish.
- Produce final design solutions for lifecycle marketing emails.
- Create marketing display banners from scratch.
- Animate engaging and disruptive videos for social media.
- Collaborate with the production team to deliver multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Use feedback from peers and leaders to improve work standards.
- Pitch creative ideas to enhance projects.
- Liaise with clients and explain design thinking.
- Research the latest design trends and apply them to daily work.
