Job Description

The award-winning publishing team at Beer52 is seeking a creative and diligent junior designer to work across several key monthly titles. The position is based in our beautiful central Edinburgh office. Main responsibilities include devising and executing creative print layouts and supporting the team with a diverse range of design tasks. Candidates should have a passion for print and a proven ability to create eye-catching editorial layouts, often using limited original assets. The role involves close collaboration with senior designers and the editorial team in a fast-paced production environment, offering excellent opportunities for skills development, professional progression, and genuine creative expression.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

• Graduate degree or equivalent in design or a related subject
• Advanced use of Adobe Creative Suite products, primarily InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• A working knowledge of the technical aspects of designing for print
• Excellent organisation and time management abilities

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Professional experience in a print design environment
• Experience working with freelance illustrators and other contractors
• An understanding of, and passion for, food and drink
• An interest in illustration or photography
