Job Description

As our Senior Social Media Manager, your role will focus on building exciting social campaigns for RuneScape, developing and growing our platforms, and deepening the engagement value of our media. Your experience in intricately understanding social platforms and your strategic thinking capabilities will shape how we keep our players connected to our game.

Through understanding our community, you’ll uphold our tone and strive to make our content as valuable as possible for our players. You will ensure our Social Media Calendar is performative and robust, including managing your own dedicated external Creative Services to maximize what we can achieve on social. You’ll also have the opportunity to use data to spread your expertise internally and champion educating teams across the studio on how best to deliver social performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver against the overall RuneScape Social Media Strategy, within the objectives of the overall Marketing Strategy.
  • Plan, manage and execute Social Media Campaigns for RuneScape’s content releases and beyond.
  • Be an expert on our Social Media analytics and performance, including sending regular reports and driving cross-team education on platform best practices.
  • Manage an external Creative Services agency relationship and maximize their value.
  • Uphold a deep understanding of our demographics and guide the business on how - and where - we can best deliver content that appeals to them.
  • Ensure consistency in tone of voice and personality across all social media platforms, and make recommendations on per-platform adaptations.
  • Oversee and occasionally pen engaging copy that is appropriate for the audience and platforms.
  • Work closely with the Community and Marketing teams for other Jagex titles stakeholders to ensure alignment on communication and engagement goals.

Requirements

  • Experience owning the strategy and communication for a significantly sized social audience.
  • Digital Citizen: deep understanding of social media cultures and intricacies to enhance communication experiences.
  • Measured: uses data to inform actions and achieve impactful results.
  • People passionate: maintains positive relationships within social domains and produces better content based on player knowledge.
  • Growth mindset: welcomes feedback and looks for opportunities for improvement or innovation.
  • Organised: able to manage and deliver on multiple communications timelines effectively and efficiently.
  • A strong communicator: excellent communication and presentation skills, including high-quality content writing.
